As a medical school student I had the opportunity to spend time in The Eye Institute at the Medical College of Wisconsin. This was a great experience for me! I fell in love with ophthalmology, I had great clinical mentors and I was also able to conduct basic science research. I loved the fact that ophthalmology allows a physician to see pediatric and adult patients. It is also a sub-specialty that requires you to have a great understanding of systemic diseases that can affect the eyes.
For me the eye is truly a window to every organ in the body!!

Ophthalmology residency gave the in depth training in the medical and surgical management of eye diseases. At The Havener Eye Institute I was trained by great clinical and research attending physicians. I was exposed to all the special areas in ophthalmology, and I fell in love with Uveitis.
My love for uveitis began and I wanted to build a career as a Uveitis Specialist. I committed my life in ophthalmology to caring for patients with uveitis, and making a difference in their lives, not simply caring for their eyes, but caring for the whole patient!!
